In General

The Alaskan Malamute is a dog whose nearness to the wolf appears again and again.

He is no simple dog, nevertheless, he has his own, uncontrollable will. The supremacy position in the 'herd' one must work for, one must point to his dog who is the 'alpha-animal' and in which position the dog is.

The 'alpha-animal' is responsible for the observance of the ranking and must put through this if necessary also with the required consequence what may never take place, however, with brutality.

Hitting your dog has never proved a good, endearing dog, on the contrary, your dog could lose the innate dear priority and become thereby aggressive.

An Alaskan Malamute is a dog in whom one has joy again and which can positively surprise every day again (not always in a positive way if I think of the last meat which he did food secretly in the kitchen).

As these dogs are very independent on account of their temperament, they should never be released. The neighbors will owe itto you and the dog is not exposed to unnecessary dangers (cars, hunters, etc). He would survive certainly in the free wild road, however, he would probably have some wild animals or farm animals on his conscience.
